Choosing between Black & White and Color Cameras
With today’s technology there are only two reasons to go with a black and white camera:
- Cost – B&W cameras are less expensive
- Darkness of the area being covered – B&W still outperform color in a very dark environment.
On the other hand color security cameras are good for:
- Daylight surveillance – were capturing color is important
- Increased resolution – when seeing the details are important

Color security camera prices range from as low as $75 to $800, as they vary in resolution, image quality and reliability. Also keep in mind that most cameras don’t include a lens, so you need to pay extra for the lens.
