Home Security Sign And Decals

Ralph Winn

Imagine you are a burglar with one thing on your mind: breaking into a home. Imagine you approach that home only to see a clearly visible security sign announcing that the home is protected by a continuously monitored security system. Would you think twice about trying to break in? You bet.

A Security Sign and Decal: A Powerful Deterrent

A security sign and decal, placed in full view of anyone who approaches your home, can be almost as effective a deterrent as having a real working home security monitoring system. Sometimes the security sign and decal is the only warning you need to give to keep invaders away. When combined with a wired or wireless home security monitoring system, a security sign and decal lets you know you have more than one line of defense against criminals, further protecting your home and family.

The Benefits of a Security Sign and Decal

A simple security sign and decal can be an important edition to your home security plan, and for just mere pennies on the dollar compared to the expense of a full security system. Without actually risking breaking into a home and being detected and caught, a potential burglar cannot know whether your decal is telling the truth or not. Prominently display decals in your yard and on your windows, and you could keep burglars away without needing to install a complicated wireless or wired system. Though we highly recommend a real security system to keep your family safe, a security sign and decal is certainly better than taking no security measures at all.

The Easy Installation of a Security Sign and Decal

Installation of a security sign and decal is easy, just like using a sticker or shoving a stick in the ground, and there is no maintenance beyond making sure your security decal always remains fully visible. A security sign and decal is completely wireless, non-electronic; needing no batteries or plugs, so you can put it anywhere you want.

Some security signs and decals will even alert emergency response teams that children or pets are in your home, and can save precious seconds by alerting rescuers to which bedrooms your family members occupy. More than just protecting your home from burglars, a security sign and decal can save your life.

Other Benefits of a Security Decal

The many benefits of a security sign and decal include: 24 hour protection, Visible to all who approach your home, Easy to install and Preventive security that saves you money

Use Security Signs and Decals with Your Home Security Plan

Security signs and decals are an inexpensive investment compared to the cost of more expensive home security monitoring systems, but remember that only a monitored security system will alert authorities in the event of a break-in. Not all burglars will be deterred by a sticker. The best solution is to invest in your peace of mind and the protection of your home and your family by installing a hardwired or wireless system; use home security signs and decals to decrease the chances of that system ever being tested.

Choosing A Home Security Camera

Nicky Clark

With rising crime rates everywhere, more and more families are opting for home security cameras. If you are one of those families, you will want to know how to choose the home security camera that is right for you. There are many options to choose from on the market today, such as indoor and outdoor systems, so you will want to do a bit of homework to make the right choice. There are simple home security systems as well as the systems with advanced features with high picture quality and digital recording.

There are home security cameras for everyone no matter what your budget is. Perhaps you are not having any problems at your house but someone in your neighborhood has had problems. You might not want to invest a great deal into a security system so the fake cameras might be a good deal for you. Sometimes, just seeing a camera (real or not) will keep burglars away for fear that it is a real camera. There are many models available that look like the real thing and can be used for indoor or outdoor use. There are many stores who use this method to help steer potential thieves away.

Web cams are also a cheap home security system as you can hook it right up to your home computer, they come with software that enables your computer to become a motion detector and it will record when motion is detected. They can also play an alert sound when motion is detected, so if you are in another part of the house, this will alert you to movement elsewhere. You can get a web camera for as little as $10 and there are free software packages on the Internet to help you turn it into a home security system.

For other indoor security options, you can use a nanny cam to keep an eye on your kids while you are away or to keep a watchful eye on your nanny. You can also get a classic security camera that you can use with your computer and a TV tuner. This offers a much better quality picture then the regular web cam. Finding the right home security camera is relatively easy and inexpensive, if you know what you are looking for. So no matter what your budget is, your can be sure to find a home security camera that will work for you.

Home And Family Security Surveillance Camera

Abigail Franks

As the world continues to get more dangerous, the last thing you want is to bring that danger directly into your home. Newspaper stories tell the tale babysitters abusing children when their parents are off at work. There's been workers who have been hired in good faith to repair or maintain your property, stealing both from inside and outside the house. It's unfortunate, but the reality is that unless you are vigilant and careful, your family, home and possessions could be hurt by people.

The answer is to be diligent and use caution when hiring anyone. Check references, though many previous people don't or won't give you all the information due to a fear of being sued by the person. Still, if you ask for references and check them, you have a much greater chance of getting good people. Let's be clear that the majority of people are very responsible and trustworthy and all they want is the opportunity to work. That said, there is the very small minority that are the problem and make it more difficult for both the worker and the owner.

Using surveillance cameras is one way to keep better control on your home or business. These little devices are great to placing discretely around your home and office. The reason for using cameras however are twofold.

First, there is the keeping honest people honest idea. This is nothing more than building on the fact that people act differently when they think they're being watched. Put security cameras in the office and let people know about them and they tend to behave differently. There's less of an argument when a customer makes claims against your employee and you need to sort through the information to get to the truth. So this first potential use for surveillance or security cameras is to allow you the potential to see what actually happened.

In a home setting, it's possible to view how the kids are behaving when the adults are gone. Who comes into and leaves your home when can also be captured. This doesn't mean that you don't trust your family or employees, only that by having security camera around, people will be better behaved.

The Second reason why it's important to consider a security camera system is to catch bad behavior or illegal activities. By having your home secured with this technology, you are able to easily identify people that shouldn't be around your home like would be burglars.

There also is the latest in surveillance camera technology, the nanny cam. This is nothing more than a hidden camera within your home to monitor the behavior of people you leave in charge of your children. Some entertain guests while you're away and drink heavily while watching television instead of watching the kids. Although most babysitter- nanny types are great, you need to recognize that if the person you leave in charge isn't responsible, your children could be at risk of being hurt or worse.

Surveillance camera systems have come a long way in the just the last few years. The cameras themselves are getting much smaller and easier to set up. No longer is it necessary to have a specialized security company set up and place a surveillance system in your home or business.

Surveillance cameras now come with a wide variety of options. From capturing color images, motion activated, auto pan and close up functionality from your computer, and even wireless cameras are all available at very attractive pricing. Everyone should consider the importance of having a security surveillance camera for peace of mind of the family and themselves.

What You Need To Look For Before Buying A Home Security Camera

Dean Caporella

Home security cameras are almost an essential part of a home make-up yet many people choose to have little or no security coverage simply for budget reasons.

There are many styles of home security cameras on the market today including some that are considered cheap; in fact, they don't come much cheaper than a fake security camera designed to act as a deterrent but providing no "eye in the sky" value at all. With these, you just have to hope the intruder is dumb enough not to notice the difference.

Wireless Security Camera System

If your budget is stretched yet, you desperately want your security upgraded then consider a wireless camera system. Again, these can be extremely cost effective. In fact, if you have some techie ability you could put one together with a little shopping around and set it up without spending a fortune.

There are some excellent wireless systems available online. One of them is from X10 who have a two Wireless Camera System which has excellent capacity for coverage inside and out.

Home Security Camera Features

Covering as much of the outside area of your property is the main aim of a home security camera. Your wireless system should not just have the capability of keeping an eye on your main entrance area but it should also give you the option of setting up in an area which is considered a preferred entry point for intruders such as a poorly lit driveway.

Other features should include the ability to be able to check in every so often from the comfort of your lounge. More sophisticated systems will have this added benefit as it only makes sense; you have security coverage, why not be able to flick a switch and perform a patrol from inside your home.

Taking it a step further, a tilt and pan feature will give you an added sense of security. The X10 system also has the capacity for enhanced vision in low light areas. This is one of the features you should ask about whenever you're on the prowl for a system or checking a security camera review.

Motion Activated Recording

One of the advantages of having motion activation attached with your home security system is the ability to check any anomalies you may discover around or inside the house when you've been away. If something doesn't look right or an area of your home has been disturbed then it will more than likely have been caught on camera. It's just a matter of rewinding the VCR and checking.

If cost is preventing you from putting in a competent security system in your home then think of the loss associated with a burglary. You'll also have greater peace of mind, especially if you live in a known high risk area. While a security camera won't physically prevent an intruder from entering your property, it is a strong deterrent.

Home Security Cameras: A Quick Guide

Mike Campbell

Think carefully before you run out to your local electronics supplier and purchase a home security camera system. Just as with terrorist protection and thievery protection systems, home systems require you to plan out your system before you go shopping. The simplest systems are set up at the front door so you can see who is standing there when the doorbell rings. They provide the comfort that comes in viewing the person or persons who are knocking at your door before you open it and let them in. If necessary, there are two-way audio systems, as well as video, that allow you to ask the people questions, such as producing identification by holding up badges or identification cards to the cameras for your inspection. So your first decision is, should I include two-way audio along with the camera at my front door? Next you would ask, should I have the camera connected to a recording device or is the simple ability to view people enough? One entrance, one system and already there are questions that need to be addressed. For the simplest of home security cameras you can purchase a kit that would include the features you need. The next question you have to ask before you purchase a system is, do I want a home security camera at any other entrances or possible entrances to my home? There are systems that install a camera in your driveway or in your garage, wherever you normally park and exit from your car. Some of these offer motion detection on/off switches also connected to lighting systems so as soon as you drive up, the camera and lights all turn on simultaneously. You can be comforted by the thought that if anybody is lurking nearby to grab you or your car as you exit the vehicle, the automatic lighting system and visible camera will most likely scare them off the minute it turns on. Another factor to consider before you purchase a home security camera system is the power source. Where is the nearest power source for the cameras, monitors and switches you'll need for the system to operate properly? There are battery-operated systems, but the maintenance involved in keeping the batteries fresh can be time consuming. Locate your nearest power source and compare it to the location or locations you need for your cameras and other equipment and build from there.

Do You Need a Home Security Camera?

John Stason

Security cameras have been around for a long time, gaining their reputation and popularity with businesses. As years went by and they became more affordable people began to use them in their homes. A security camera at home can be a great way to protect your home and family, keep an eye on the babysitter, or just monitor things while you are away.

Statistics have shown that the number of robberies that occur in homes are rising steadily in the past years.

If you are interested in protecting your home with a surveillance system, you should first grasp the concepts of the technology, what it can and what it cannot do for your safety.

A home security camera is basically part of an entire home security system. Surveillance cameras are rarely used as standalone devices.

Normally they are connected to some type of alarm and used in conjunction with motion sensors. These motion sensors register movements from the images transmitted by the camera and could then trigger either an alarm or a recording of the imagery or both.

The primary purpose of a home security camera is there to alert anyone visually if an unwanted intruder is within the house. They do not provide a sufficient level of security if used alone. They always should be used along with home alarm systems. What good does a camera do if nobody is acting on the image captured?

Another - often neglected - function of surveillance cameras for homes is that they have proven to have a deterrent effect of any potential intruders. A potential intruder will think twice if it is really worth attempting to break into your house while he is likely to be observed by a camera and the footage probably recorded.

Most intruders already have a criminal record and their pictures are on file with the authorities. So any video footage of them will get them into much bigger trouble that a first-time opportunity burglar. That first-timer however would never choose a home that seems to have sophisticated security equipment installed. Remember, if your camera never records any suspicious activity it still might have saved you without you knowing it - solely due to the deterring effect a camera has for intruders.

It is quite obvious that cameras that are low-priced could probably do the job you want it to do for a couple of days or so. However, when the time comes that this camera is to be used during the night, they are un-helpful.

A good home outdoor security camera must also be effective during the night. There are actually home outdoor security camera brands that are on the market and are effective and inexpensive.

Once in a while you will hear comments that the only things cameras will do is attract criminals. The reasoning behind this is understandable: If people spot a security camera they tend to think there must be something valuable if the owners install a camera. However, the reasoning of a burglar is quite different. Criminals will weigh the risk against the potential return. While a camera may hint that there is something valuable to get the risk level for the intruder is raised substantially by an overt security camera.

Please be aware that the use of video surveillance on unsuspecting individuals such as house workers or visitors may not be legal in all states or countries. This is particularly crucial if a security camera installed on your property partly covers - or could cover a public area - such as the sidewalk in front of your house. So please be sure to check with your local authorities.

All in all, security cameras are a welcome addition to your overall home security concept. They provide you with sufficient protection to make you sleep soundly at night or during the day.

How To Successfully Use Home Security Cameras

Jim Johnson

Increasing home security can be accomplished in several ways. Some of those include home security systems and alarms, neighborhood watch programs and more. But home security camera systems are growing in popularity lately. Let see why.

A home security camera system does not have to be expensive or extensive to help you keep in touch with what is going on around your home at all times. Just a few well-placed cameras at very strategic locations can be all that you need. For instance, cameras that are placed at opposite outside corners of your home can provide good coverage of most of the perimeter of the house. You can even connect these cameras to motion sensitive devices that only turns them on when motion is detected in it's surveillance area.

A couple of cameras inside the home can also be used in a very similar way and because many surveillance cameras are very small these days they can be practically invisible to the casual observance. In fact, oftentimes something as simple and cheap as a webcam can be used to capture enough video to give you the information that you need to be able to successfully monitor your home. And these are very small and inexpensive cameras to use.

With these cameras in place, you can monitor what is happening at your home from a great distance by combining them with appropriate software and connecting through the internet to view the results. There is software available that will alert you by email when motion is detected in a particular area. Or you can choose to have the cameras record video continuously for you and save it to a server where you can then access it and review it at your leisure.

Some use these setups to keep an eye on babysitters, or to monitor what their children are doing while they are away.

Of course, even if you do not have children, a home security camera system can still be beneficial for peace of mind when you are away from home. It can help you make sure that no nasty surprises will be awaiting you upon your return home.

So give consideration to incorporating a home security camera system in your security arsenal. It's cheap and very effective.
